For those of you who do not, I have much to say.
The last 2-3 weeks have been horrid for me. Partly because work grew very busy as the school year approached, and partly because I have faced quite a circumstance in my life.
In the last two weeks, I have lost not one, but two members of my family.
The first, my granduncle, I was a bit prepared for. I knew he was sick, and knew death was a possibility.
The second, however, I never saw coming. Not but 6 days later, my dear Aunt Michele was heading north to her home in Williamstown, when the unimaginable happened. We think she lost consciousness, and that caused her to drift across three lanes of traffic, when her car hit two pine trees, both forced 6 inches off their base. The impact of this, according to the coroner, broke my aunt's neck before the car dropped into the ditch next to the blueberry fields and turned over...
My aunt's death, to be sure, was tragic.
At the funeral, in a small local Williamstown church, there must have been over a thousand people that came to the funeral... cars were parked to the point that both sides of the road were full, the church lot and field was full, and there was so many cars that it was starting to cause a backup on the highway. My aunt was known and loved, so very very much.
I do not cry for her, however; I cry for myself. I know that she is now in a place I cannot reach as I am now. I have faith that she is with the Lord, and that God is in control.
My uncle mentioned, at the funeral, that she had a recurring dream... she dreamed of a white knight coming across the blueberry fields to rescue her. She thought it was uncle... no... it was Christ taking her home.
RIP, Aunt Michele. The White Knight did indeed come to take you home.
And now, I must go for the moment, because my brother can't spare me 5 minutes to recall my aunt's memory.
